Prebiotic Power Banana Bread Dietitian Approved

A simple banana bread, upgraded with purpose. This prebiotic-packed loaf combines fibre-rich wholefoods with your daily dose of Microbiome Essentials to support gut function, microbiome diversity, and sustained energy.

Naturally sweetened and dietitian-approved, it’s an easy way to turn a classic comfort bake into something that actively nourishes your microbiome - one slice at a time.

Ingredients

3 large ripe bananas
1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp vanilla essence
Optional splash of milk if mixture a little dry
1 1/4 cups Wholemeal flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup Microbiome Essentials
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup desiccated coconut
1/4 cup flaxseeds
1/4 cup pepita seeds (chopped)
1/4 cup chia seeds


Method

  1. Set oven to 180degrees (160 fan forced).
  2. Prepare loaf pan with baking paper & olive oil.
  3. Mash bananas & add remaining wet ingredients in a separate bowl.
  4. Mix all of the dry ingredients.
  5. Combine wet ingredients to dry, and mix well (add an extra splash of milk if mixture is too sticky).
  6. Add mixture into loaf pan.
  7. Bake in oven for 40-45mins.
  8. Cool for 5-10mins on rack & slice.

Store in an airtight container for 2-3 days or pop some slices in the freezer.
